Chuck Swindoll buttresses his views of grace with the respected names of John Wesley and The Great Awakening. The views Wesley promoted during The Great Awakening, however, are opposed to Swindoll.

In his magnum opus, The Grace Awakening, Chuck Swindoll presents himself as taking up "the torch of freedom" as brandished by protestant Reformers such as Martin Luther. In this he leads his readers to believe that by following him and his teaching in The Grace Awakening that they are being true to historical Reformation teaching, but is this actually the case?

Moody Press boasts of being "The Name You Can Trust." In this, Moody proposes to Christians that they are true to scripture and to Christ. Masses the world over, however, who lean their eternal hopes on much of the doctrine published by "The Name You Can Trust" would be astonished to find that Moody Press should not be trusted.

Modern Christian teachers proclaim salvation through "Faith Alone," but is such "faith alone" actually able to save if it is not a faith which works by love?

Erwin W. Lutzer, pastor of Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, promises heaven to practicing drunkards and adulterers through a faulty view of grace and the gospel.

Like those who reinvent history to suit their own agendas, Dr. Charles R. (Chuck) Swindoll has rewritten Reformation history. Does Swindoll insist that "the faith that justifies is a vital and living faith that yields the fruit of works" as did Luther? No he does not, rather, Chuck Swindoll teaches the opposite and this he does under the banner of restoring Reformation doctrine! How is this anything other than historical revisionism?

Without contrition true conversion and revival are impossible. We can have big churches and thousands at altar calls without contrition, but we cannot get one sin-laden soul to repent and genuinely be converted without contrition.

Preachers like Antony T. (Tony) Evans may appear to stand for truth and the gospel, but if their teaching on salvation by grace allows a professing Christian to continue in willful rebellion against God’s moral law without fear(like that of Dallas Theological Seminary), they destroy with one hand what they attempt to build with the other.

Errant dogmas always creep around the Christian church. In fact, Revelation chapter two records a warning from Jesus against dangerous doctrines that led His people astray. In the contemporary church the "carnal Christian," a sin-friendly doctrinal hybrid, is worming its way into Christian orthodoxy.

Popular contemporary, evangelical teachers tone-down, dress-up, disguise and Christianize Satan’s garden lie, “Ye shall not surely die,” stupefying the minds and blinding the eyes of men just as it did with our first parents.
