The following are direct quotes from the writings of Anthony T. Evans. Dr. Evans is highly publicized by Moody Broadcasting and Moody Press and is an alumnus of Dallas Theological Seminary. The quotations contained herein are small representative of what is available from Tony Evans on the subject of sin and salvation. I preface Dr. Evans' teaching with only a sobering, scriptural warning on the dangers and deceptive nature of sin:
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness (2 Thess 2:10-12).
A fleshly or carnal Christian is caught between two worlds. He believes Christ is real and genuinely believes in His sacrifice on the cross. Even so, he clings intentionally to his worldly ways… though he is saved. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, The Carnal Christian
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. -Paul, Philipians 3:18-19
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. -Paul, Rom 8:7,8,13
Paul teaches that all of our transgressions-past, present, and, future-have been forgiven. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Free At Last
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. -Paul, Rom 3:24-25
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. -Paul, Heb 10:26-27
We sin everyday in thought, word, and deed. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Totally Saved
When you're saved you may do the same sin you did before you were saved. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Totally Saved
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. -John, 1 John 3:8-9
…saints who act more sinful than sinners even though they are on their way to heaven. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Free At Last
Believers are called saints sixty-six times in the new testament. We may be carnal saints, defeated saints, and even sinning saints. But we're still God's “set-apart ones.” -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Free At Last
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. -John, 1 John 3:6
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. -Paul, Titus 1:16
For the Christian, fruit is not a salvation issue, but a fellowship issue. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Totally Saved
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. -Jesus, Matthew 7:19-21
We can choose either ‘works of the law’ righteousness or ‘by grace through faith’ righteousness to be acceptable to God.1 -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, Totally Saved
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. -Paul, Galatians 1:8

A fleshly or carnal Christian is: ...clings intentionally to his worldly ways...has the mindset, motivation and methodology of sin...the kind of person who, while stealing a car, would kill the woman sitting in it...a born-again Christian who knowingly, willingly, intentionally and persistently lives to please and serve self rather than Jesus Christ. -Anthony T. (Tony) Evans, The Carnal Christian
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. -Jesus, Matt 16:24-25
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. -Paul, Phil 3:18-19
